==The Food==
I don't have a gluten sensitivity, but I love trying out any specialty food. I guess my contribution would be that I am able to have gluten and compare it to gluten-free food. I'm happy to report that the food here at Silly Axe (all gluten-free) is extremely delicious and better than most eateries around the city. That's a pretty bold statement, but it's good news for those with celiacs. They're not missing out at all, but in fact having the better meal, in my opinion.
++Don't Go Bacon My Heart++ [5/5]
A BLT with benedictine. My favorite part was in fact the bread. Slightly crunchy on the outside and hearty feeling. I'm not really into sandwiches, but this one of the better ones I've had.
++Brussel Sprouts Hash++ [5/5]
It's a bit oily (as seen by the oil marks on the paper dish), but it's now my favorite brussel sprouts in Louisville. It was highly recommended by the staff and I wholeheartedly agree: this is the side you want to order.
==For Next Time==
I've been told the owner/creator changes the menu frequently, so it's best to keep tabs on their social media to be up to date with their menu. If they keep the same menu:
-Side item plate (esp the sweet potato wedges & maple glazed carrots)
-Pork green chile tacos
-The Fat Axe -

My favorite restaurant in town, by far! This is a 100% gluten free restaurant so not only do I feel completely safe as a person with Celiac eating here, but chef Angela hits it out of the park! Her food is delicious!I am a regular here and I've tried many, many items on the menu and I haven't found anything I don't love.
My favorite items (so far lol)
Best, best Sloppy Joes ever! I'm obsessed!
Pimento cheese sandwich (I love it on the Hoagie but probably my favorite is the classic white)
Yummy yummy chili!!
Even better when you add the chili on fries with cheese!!
OMG tacos!! Her tacos on Thursday are to die for!!!! She makes the hard taco shells by hand and, oh yum...I could eat 100 of them!! They melt in your mouth! She also has the most delicious fresh homemade tortilla chips and fresh salsa!
OK, lately she's been making corn dogs and funnel cakes in honor of the fair and O.M.G. The corn dog, delish! And I don't know what she does to the funnel cakes but seriously, they are insanely delicious!! A side note, I'm just thrilled she did this. I've really missed the fair food! It just makes me happy that I can have those once a year favorites. A person with Celiac really gets this!
Other info, there's parking in the front and there's additional parking in their parking lot in the back, which is very convenient.
They're closed on Sundays but sometimes she offers pop up lunches. One time she did fried chicken! Check their Facebook.
Also check their Facebook for daily specials. They offer various daily Quesadillas, soups and sandwich specials. I love to check her Facebook daily to see what she's up to. Always something new and exciting!
They offer a fresh variety of deli sandwiches. They have many signature sandwiches but you can also build your own.
They have a grab and go section and you can take home many different items priced by the pound. Or choose to eat there if you like.
She is now offering a meal special each week with a meat and 2 sides made fresh for I think $12.99. Or you can choose a 4 side vegetarian plate.
She offers a fry (French fry) menu on special days and you can choose fresh toppings and dipping sauces.
Bring your non gluten free friends, your gluten free friends, well anyone and try out this gem! -

Outstanding!!
My boss has celiac and heard this was the place to go for gluten free. We tried it and he won't stop talking about it. I am sure he is going to tell everyone all the way back to Florida.
I had the banana pudding, and it is more than worth writing home for. -

Wow this place is off the hook! First of all, as someone with celiacs, I love the name. Second, it's been years since I've had the option of ordering anything I want off the menu because EVERYTHING here is gluten free and safe to eat for celiacs!! I was overwhelmed by the amount of options they had. Since I went at lunch time, I decided on the Hawaiian sandwich and a side of garlic roasted veggies. The veggies were hot and had great flavor, so you can't go wrong with those. And this sandwich - holy crap. I don't know how they make their bread, but it actually tastes like bread! I've had so many different "gluten free breads" that are as bland as cardboard and as dry as a desert, but this bread was sooooo good! The rest of the sandwich was delicious - I especially loved the slice of pineapple on it! I will 100% be back!

The good Lord has answered my prayers y'all, a restaurant where I can eat literally anything on the menu! I went today for the first time during my lunch break, it is located next to Migo on Dundee Road. They have a tiny parking lot behind the restaurant, but if that is full there is street parking for a small parking meter fee.
The staff is super friendly, as soon as you walk in they ask if you've been before and give you a rundown of the type of restaurant they are/food they serve. It appears that they have a set menu of sandwiches every day, and they have specials of the day as well as certain items in a grab and go case. I'm supposed to be on a low-carb diet, but today I said screw it so I can try the Bahn Mi sandwich and Chili Mac.
I haven't had "real bread" in 6-7 years. The bread on the Bahn Mi reminds me of what I remember focaccia bread being like. The food is flavorful, complex, and the sandwich was MASSIVE.
I went with a coworker (who is able to eat gluten) and she loved the food as well! I'm looking forward to going again!
